New Color

I’ve been a big fan of Hense for a long time. In the 00’s I would take the train and see these massive tags on the side of derelict buildings. That was cool but I rediscovered his work later on and legit fell in love. I think the first piece of his newer work I came across was his mural driving through the Arizona Ave underpass. In this experiment I wanted to make something inspired by that use of color and organic rhythm.

In this piece I’m randomly combining SVG patterns and colored PNG fills. The paths for the SVGs are stored in an array and have a set pattern of steps going from small to larger shapes. With each interval these are combined randomly with different semi-transparent paint patterns.
